Well the arena is already sold out for WVU, Baylor, KSU and there is a waitlist for season tickets.
I wonder how many season tickets go to ticket brokers ?
I know, I knowā¦. Money is money.
Because blowout home games arent memorable.
The big time opponents are the games youll remember for yrs. Thats my argument
I watched every game last yr. I barely remember who we played in non conf besides the Vegas tournament & Auburn.
Watching an inferior opponent, wet the bed repeatedly, in a 40 pt loss. Not the greatest entertainment, imo
Playing a large number of Top 25 teams in our non-conference schedule would be kinda stupid as it could result in more season ending injuries and an earlier dismissal from the NCAA tourney.
Thankfully, CKS understands this and will continue to schedule appropriately. And the truth is that most non-conference Top 25 teams would never agree to play UH in the Fertitta Center anyway. The Big 12 games and the NCAA tourney is where youāre going to find most āmemorableā games.
I agree with you, that overall the non conf has good balance. Very difficult neutral site games, and get healthy, get guys minutes home games
My explanation was just for why some UH fans, myself included, complain about a cupcake home schedule
College football & college basketball, have that same trend. Big non conference games on neutral sites
The thing is - we are playing several Top 25 teams in non-conference. But the gap between those games and the ones actually at FC couldnāt be larger. Maybe at least add a couple of mediocre ones in there to throw season ticket holders a bone.
Idk sometimes itās the blowout games that give you your first look at some of the young guys. I think it was a game against Bryant or someone like that, where I realized how special of a defender Shead was going to be. The home slate couldāve been better but conference play will still deliver 9 quality opponents for the home crowd. Thats still an improvement on what we had in the American.
