Parking Fine from the UTSA game is BS!

Personally, I would send them in writing a copy of the CC statement (with other areas non-relevant areas blacked out), then include a bill for $87 to cover the time and cost of putting together the reply letter copies of the statement.

Then follow the other advice and report to SA.

Good luck with it.

Or, if they send demand through the mail you can sue them under the RICO act.

I will be calling them tomorrow.

I called the company they were clueless. They had a website on the envelope they left on my car to pay I went to the site and it was down. I called the company they gave me an email address to contact the company of the issue and its been since the Monday after the game and I still haven’t heard back from them at all.

What was the website they told you to go to?

It looked shady to begin with so it shouldn’t have been a shock it wasn’t working.

Parking at the Alamodome was the worst ever! Horrible. Every lot we could find was full. And very little street/curb available. Ended up parking on the street probably 2 miles from the stadium. Hope to never go to that stadium again!

I had the same thing happen to me in San Antonio a few years back at a lot operated by a private company. I just ignored their “fine” and nothing happened.

It has come to our attention that your car warranty has run out or will soon. You will soon be 100% responsible for many thousands of dollars on a daily basis for car repairs. Send us all your money so that you can sleep nights.

So I sent in evidence that I paid, and they sent me back an email saying my receipt was for a different lot and they would be willing to settle the claim for $40. That’s not gonna happen. Calling them now, but I have been on hold for awhile.

Scammy company for sure, not sure I should have even bothered to follow up with them. When I eventually got off hold they looked into it and suggested that I must have paid at the wrong lot and not the lot I parked in. My receipt has the lot name on it though, so that really does not sound plausible at all. I complained about them to the city of San Antonio.

I just received the same email claiming it was the wrong lot. That’s absurd. These guys are frauds.

Somebody needs to submit this scam to a SA tv station. This is a bad look for a tourist oriented city to have shysters pulling this kind of nonsense, and they need to be called out in public so a local prosecutor can get involved.

Update:

So despite them telling me on the phone on September 19th that I didn’t need to do anything, I checked my mail today and saw a letter from a debt collector about this debt.

I just finished reporting them to the CPFB (https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/) and will probably report them to the FTC (ReportFraud.ftc.gov) and maybe attorney general tomorrow.

edit: by the way, the debt collector and the parking company have the same physical address…

Not a lawyer but: If they have contacted you three times by mail you can sue for mail fraud and include a RICO charge which trebles the damages awarded.

I just received a debt collection notice for the 609 S Alamo LAZ lot. We paid to park there as well. Unfortunatly i think we paid cash into the machine. Of course threw receipt away a long time ago. Never received a ticket, now says we owe $87. I would say their machine was broken that day.

Update, I called them again today and after the call they sent me an email saying my notice has been voided. I will probably hold off on further reporting them unless I receive another attempt.

Personally, I would still report them as they are probably doing it to others. Need to pressure them to stop as it seems they have a system of this in place.
