Yes, you can be sure his contract has clauses. Not only is it in our best interest to extend him but it also sends a message to current and future recruits. One further it sends a message to areas outside of Houston. Texas and Louisiana High Schools are huge areas for HCWF to recruit from.
We can also do our part if we have access to A.D.'s in any state you can find yourself in. There are so many prospects that it takes one question to stir up some interests. Some programs have unofficial recruiters all over the country. This is especially true with NIL.

If PSU hired a 65 year old HC, the boosters would go absolutely ape turd!
They want a flashy hire (which I don’t actually think is a good idea, but whatever).
If I were PSU, I would go after the HC at GaTech. He is from that part of the country and is a good program builder.

This rumor is coming from some clickbait source called AtoZ sports. They are just wanting some clicks, move on.
Actually A to Z isn’t clickbait but the article basically said they are interested in Fritz but the fit is off and interest likely isn’t mutual. Athlon sports is clickbait
Taking a program from life support to 9 wins in the Big 12 will attract attention. But, CWF does not impress me as a job hopper. And Penn State is a nightmare, for many reasons.

Trussville, AL is “that part of the country?” Key hasn’t worked north of Atlanta in over 20 years. (When he did, it was a 1-year stint at Western Carolina.)
Besides, he signed an extension yesterday, so he’s almost definitely off the table.
Penn State just fired a guy MIDSEASON who won 13 games and was one play away from going to the National Championship last year. Their recruiting class is abysmal, their administration is clueless, and their fanbase is even more delusional than some of the ones we have here in Texas. No coach with a lick of sense is taking that job.
