Hopefully it shows hes been distracted instead of coaching

Be on the alert for eye twitching during the halftime/post game interview.

I preferred eye twitching during pre-game interview like Herman.

If SMU can match, I don’t think he’s leaving Greater Texas again.

I could see VT. The ACC is very winnable, as Wake Forest is demonstrating.

I don’t know. It sure seems all these guys struggle when they leave their recruiting regions.

“Nothing has changed.”

I thought the TCU nugget about patterson retirement being imminent was interesting

Fatterson will go into the restaurant biz.

I think TCU big money is starting to get tired of the constant whining and complaining from Patterson. It was fine when they were a consistent top 25 team but his Big 12 record is now essentially the same as Dana’s (52% wins).

It wouldn’t shock me at all if Patterson retired and took a media job for a few years, then popped back up somewhere else. TCU won’t fire him but might supply a nice retirement “gift” for him.

It didn’t say anything about Patterson retiring, just his last season at TCU. From the article:
“I was told this week by some sources close to the situation at TCU, that this could be Gary Patterson’s last year as the head coach of the Horned Frogs”
He could just be getting the boot.

If Patterson retires I bet Dykes would go there in a heartbeat. No doubt TCU would give him a hard look considering their firsthand experience losing to him. Not to mention, same recruiting grounds and familiarization with Texas coaches/high schools. VT makes no sense.

It makes sense but veetech has big, big donors and they want/are desperate to relevant again. They have a great fan base. My brother in law played for UVA. Great fan base, VT can’t stand to be below UVA.

VT is a good job, but with his recruiting if he sticks around he will get offers for jobs closer to home. His “take a power conference job across the country” experience was not a good one, while both of his coaching jobs in Greater Texas have been.

Patterson to be AD at TCU.

VT w a top 20 recruiting class & a shot at a winning record.

Long way from the glory days of Frank Beamer and Bud Foster but not awful.

If Dykes could keep most of the class and use what they have better he could start strong. Virginia staff hitting DC and the Tidewater/Va Beach hard makes VT a tougher job than even 5 years ago.

That said, TCU seems like a great fit and the timing is right with the AAC football changes soon.

True Chris…both of my kids graduated from UVA, and that in state rivalry is brutal…
Don’t know why Fuentes hasn’t succeeded, but they won’t stand for middling…

Outstanding and congratulations. This is indeed a great school.
Athletics wise UVA recruits athletes with great grades. This is not a “gimme” by any means.

Thanks Chris…thankfully, I raised two great kids, who became great adults…I did just enough right !!!
My only mild regret is that my son turned down opportunity to play basketball for UH…and he was still good enough to walk on at UVA his senior year…
