Per Baldwin: Weigman named starting qb

From what you have seen, who has looked better in practice, Carlisle or Chriss?

I think, regardless of which is the better backup, Zeon will get the #2 spot so Carlisle can be used for other things. You don’t want your backup QB returning punts, kick-offs, playing receiver, etc. That’s just my opinion.

Then he should never have accepted the job. He knew that our goal was to get back to a power conference. He lost me when he basically told us that he did not recruit. This is then that Fertitta should have fired him on the spot.
We were sold a QB whisperer. I will write that he did help Clayton readjust his pocket presence when he got injured…but Clayon has to be injured to see that improvement. If cdh was all that he would a HC in a power conference right now. Same can be said as a HC for applesauce.

I believe Dana is a QB whisperer, he’s just not a good HC at the P5

much better as an OC

How can you forget Maddox Kopp?

wasn’t he unranked?

Kopp was a solid 3 star.

If they were playing 7-on-7, it would be Carlisle. But I think Zeon is currently second best and is appropriately getting second-string reps.

Kopp should have stayed at UH. I think he would have gotten a shot if he did

Kopp had potential but was unwilling to sit out more than one year and transferred to Colorado, got caught up in Coach Prime’s housecleaning, transferred to Miami, Ohio, and I lost track of him. Now I see he plays for Houston Christian. I hope playing at home allows Kopp to turn things around.

I remember seeing him in that first Deion team meeting at CU

Kopp started the last game of the season for Colorado against Washington. Colorado got drilled. by double digits.

Uh, no.

Herman was long gone by the time we got a Big 12 invite. Abbott and Patrick got us in, not any coach.

The conventional wisdom is that Herman would have stayed at UH if the B12 had added UH in 2016. I have my doubts. Herman was an opportunist and using UH as a stepping stone. Herman wanted a bigger stage and got it. His act got stale, lost support from those that he needed and was an average coach at Texas. Being an average coach at Texas gets you fired.

Kopp himself told the media to go watch the video, you’ll see him in the front row when he told everyone that Shedeur was QB1

Herman’s wife was in love with Austin. She called it “back home” in numerous online posts. I think the possibility of him staying here under any circumstances were slim.

That said, I would have preferred he did not leave. He did. He failed. So be it.

I’m sure LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, USC, etc had openings so Herman would have been gone anyways.
