Delaware is one of the main FCS schools who could easily be FBS.

looks like they are going up the 11 next year, so not too many considered to all 2024 p5’s.
i think delaware is a good fit, i have been on that campus and also sam houston; would consider them comparable.
$5 million FBS call up fee now. (from just $5k)
You know a school is serious now if they write that check.
SAM, etc made that move just in time.
Could price out the WAC/ASun schools down the line.

This leaves Alaska, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Vermont as the only states without FBS programs.

Could you imagine playing away games in Alaska? First team to have all their players survive the cold wins the game.

And all of those state flagships except for Alaska and Vermont have the means to play FBS if they wanted to.
Even in the cases of Vermont and Alaska, there would definitely be interest if they announced a football program tomorrow.

It would be tough to recruit there. Even though Fairbanks has almost 100,000 people and some semblence of nightlife.

We have Too many FBS programs period
Way Too many FBS programs in Texas…it is watering down our recruiting.
Its EMBARASSING how many P4 programs we have in the State of Texas, compared to other states.
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor
Houston
SMU
Houston and SMU still have to prove they belong in a P4.

Montana and Montana State do just fine relative to those neighboring FBS powerhouses of Idaho and Utah State.

Let’s hope Michigan and Delaware never play a game. It’d be virtually impossible to tell which team is which.
