The play in game is 2 games of automatic seeds with terrible RPIs playing for 16 seeds and 2 games of bubble teams playing for 11 or 12 seeds. Seeing as Houston is just outside the bubble and TSU is destined for the CBI, it’s not even an option.
Play-In games are also held in Dayton so it wouldn’t be in town. Would have been a nice send-off though.
