Prayers for American Airlines and military helicopter.
My sister is a major on base there on Potomac River. They can smell jet fuel and heard crash. Also, i went there for UH game vs Temple in 2022. Stopped by on way to game. Got to see Marine 1 take off from about 100 yards or less away. Her old house and street before her promotion on current base is covered in jet fuel.
Tragic. Prayers to Kansas as plane was flying from there.
New York Times just reported there was one controller on duty rather than two as there should have been.
At that time of day it’s one guy for helicopters and one guy for planes….apparently the controller that normally only handles helicopters was doing double duty and was responsible for planes as well.
It did not say if a guy called in sick, etc……but whatever supervisor okayed only having one controller on duty just killed 67 people.
And you guys making light of this and turning it political, regardless of side, are assholes.
This is not the appropriate topic to take jabs at each other.
"Our hearts break for the families who lost loved ones in the tragic plane and helicopter crash at DCA. We send our prayers and condolences to everyone who is mourning today, and we’re grateful to the first responders who are doing everything they can to help under the extremely difficult circumstances. " BO. That is how you do it, that is all that had to be said today.
