- Yes
- No
I think they should cap it at 1 and wouldn’t be opposed to a *must be conference champ and ranked at least this high
so I voted yes on the poll but it comes with terms
edit to add - I get why both were in and have no real gripe about it, the rules were followed so thats cool. but everyone knew neither really had a chance and there were multiple other schools much more worthy that would have made the games more competitive.
Nobody complains when a 16 or a 15 seed gets blown out by 40 in the NCAA basketball tournament.
b/c there’s 64 teams that are playing (or however many get in). apples to oranges
Yeah, College Football is very literally the only sport where I’ve seen people act like blowouts in the first round of a playoff are a failure of the system. Literally everywhere else – from the World Cup to High School Volleyball – we accept that teams have to prove that they’re better on the field or court.
In a perfect ncaa sports world the cfp would not exist.
You either have DIV I FBS football or you do not.
The current system has 10 conferences with independents
This means the ncaa is a bunch of low level scum hypocrites that should have put their foot down long ago with a DIV I FBS Championship like they have fir DIV II.
By CATTERING to a very few (they were bought out) we have/had these scams that are/were the bcs and cfp.
Blue bloods don’t like it? Tough you know what. You don’t agree with a DIV II championship type system? Move to another conference.
The power four is completely artificial.
Why should a ucla have to travel to Indiana and vice versa?
This “grey” area of do they belong or not is 100% fabricated/packaged by espn.
Just stop lying to us and give it to us that you want a 32 teams league a la nfl.
This cfp scam is an espn scam permitted, allowed and promoted bybthe ncaa.
10 champs and six at large. One independent gets in if they are ranked 10 or better.
The above is what it should be. The real world is espn imposing what their shareholders want.
Voters are blowing the poll out of the water
Voters have no power. espn tells them who to put into this cfp scam.
bama with three losses should never be in.
I meant the “voters” in this poll
Should there only be 32 teams in the ncaa tournament because the Cinderellas never win it all and they’re taking money from programs that have the absolute right to horde it?
You don’t understand, Funk! ESPN (who is an extremely unbiased neutral party with no conflicts of interest btw) told me that the only thing that determines whether a game is worth playing is if the biggest fanbases in the country want to watch it! The NFL is a failure because the Cowboys don’t win the Super Bowl every year! The AFC South shouldn’t have an auto-bid to the playoffs!
I personally think Paul Finebaum and Nick Saban should choose the six teams in the playoffs. If they cannot agree it goes to a committee vote of the SEC mascots. If there is still an impasse then two coaches at Michigan and Michigan State that haven’t been accused of sexual assault will settle in with a raffle held on WGN.
The problem with G6 teams now vs. pre-NIL/Portal days is that the talent drain is exponentially more now than it was.
After the 2024 season:
~70% of the First Team all-conference G6 players with eligibility and that did not opt to enter the NFL draft transferred to P4
~50% of the Second Team all-conference G6 players with eligibility and that did not opt to enter the NFL draft transferred to P4
~50% of the Third Team all-conference G6 players with eligibility and that did not opt to enter the NFL draft transferred to P4
Pre-NIL/Portal, that did not happen. My guess is the very best and ONLY the very best G6 teams have maybe five or six P4 starters each on offense or defense. The rest might have one or two. The bulk of G6 teams have P4 second and third teamers that are “good” but not P4 starter good.
Hey, Tulane and JMU at least scored touchdowns.
So what? How many 16-seeds in March Madness have even a single player that could see playing time on the team they’re playing against?
To me, there are some obvious differences between football and basketball.
Basketball has less people on the floor/field than football.
Football is considerably more physical
If the TXHSFB playoffs can put two teams from each district in a playoff bracket, the CFP can take one from each conference.
IIRC, the original plan was for one G5 to make the playoff, so I don’t have a problem with that. In my opinion, all schools should be at least an affiliate member of a conference for football, no more independents.
What is stopping a g5/g6 billionaire from buying the 50 best players in the country?
They win it all then what?
Wait they are a g5/g6 they don’t belong.
I do like horse radish.
I think there should be (2) leagues and run it like the EPL with relegation.
bottom 5 teams in the “big league” drop down / top 5 teams in the “little league” moves up.
so long as UH is included im on board with whatever the hell this thing moves to
