Very moving. I was more affected by it than I thought I would be.
Two things of note:
-
Not the most expansive collection in a visiting exhibit that I have seen but the structure and flow are memorable, surprising, and at times disturbing.
-
The surviving artifacts and video presentations demonstrate how beautiful the Roman towns and cities were at that time. Amazing how intricate and masterful their handymen and tradesmen were.
Example: a “beware of dog” tile door sign hand-painted and unearthed still in its frame.
