Delrecco can redshirt for a year and be a starter next year with Diane
From the videos I’ve seen of Diane he kind of seems to fit that mold. He needs to change his body from a kids to man’s body and convert some baby fat to strength and big man quickness. Is Kelvin really confident he will break the rotation as a big next season in only 6 months? Ideally he is the HS guy that sits for us but with Cenac leaving we would have to bring in 2 more bigs that can get minutes to go with Jo Jo.
I feel pretty good if we can get Gillespie to go with Jo Jo as starters but they are both 6’8" so we are undersized inside. Can we dig into the portal to get a 2nd big that is 6’10"ish? Is there a Josh Carlton type guy we can get as a second big in the portal?
Question becomes is Diane good enough to be the 3rd big getting minutes this year - obviously he has the size to be our ‘heavy’ big. Personally, I’d like to debut Diane in 2027 as a monster instead of 2026 as a work in progress…

So 3 roles need to be filled in the front court.
Not sure what McFarland is thinking, this upcoming season was his best opportunity to get significant minutes for a title contending team since it looks like Cenac isn’t coming back lol….

He can always change his mind if it was his idea instead of CKS. Hopefully the split was amicable and a door was left ajar.
This year‘s team showed great toughness! Everybody wanted this team to go further in March madness, including the players on this team.IMHO it was not because of lack of toughness

It may just be the reality of our NIL funding. If we end up paying Burton, Gillespie, Jo Jo, McCarty, and Miller the bigger NIL $ then there may only be money left for taking on a project level big and not a minutes level big
