Portal Players UH should target

With not having a “clue” what the 2026 roster will look like, I’ll throw out an early floor / ceiling.

Floor / 8 Wins

Ceiling - Conf Championship and/or CFP berth.

But UH still managed to find Amare, Dean, and Tanner…

Weigman is the piece that made that combination work. We need Weigman to return.

We were indeed fortunate in that regard.

Koziel probably saw that Wisconsin was going to be awful this year and left for greener pastures.

Same for Amare at UAB.

Agreed, unless Willie finds a Stud somewhere…

R/S will be back as well.

The Coogs have a solid core to work with.

Makhi Hughes was RB for Fritz at Tulane where he had a 1300 yard season in 2023. He had a 1400 yard season in 2024 under Sumrall before jumping to Oregon where he was buried in the depth chart. Was thinking he may be a high reward pick up without a huge price tag.

@Acres No one was beating Tech. They’re legit

Utah was solid. Really good offensive Line. With our schedule we had a chance at Arlington

But, our margin of error for wins, was small. If we couldn’t run the ball. We were in big trouble for that game

Amazing to continually read that we are deficient at NIL while observing all the talent Willie obtained in the Transfer Market.

When this fact is mentioned, some disregard this, saying it doesn’t really matter, just an accident, on and on.

For example let us guess that Baylor has had more NIL than do we.

We have beaten them 2 out of 3 times.

Amare Thomas could play for anyone. Did he get NIL? Did he take less just to play for Willie?

Last year from the (30) transfers we brought in.

Only (8) were from P4 schools.

*Connor Weigman (A&M)
*Dalton Merryman (Texas Tech)
*Jason Brooks Jr (Oklahoma St)
*Alvin Williamson Jr (Vanderbilt)
*Sione Fotu (Utah)
*Alvin Ebosele (Baylor)
*Jordan Allen (LSU)
*Matthew Wykoff (Cal)

The perception of Houston has changed though. Houston has a stable program, where across CFB, there’s alot of uncertainty at programs

So the other 22 got zero NIL, or just not that much?

The latter. Nobody’s playing for free

Many hereon are saying that Willie’s December recruiting class is “the greatest in school history”.

So these guys all are taking less NIL just to play for Willie?

If true, Willie walks on water.

Don’t sleep on Johnny :sunglasses:

That was easy for him. What a dumpster fire UAB Football is at the moment.

@TucsonCoog my comment wasnt to you. I dont have sources on what our NIL budget is
