Possible Recruit List

If we can’t keep him away from SMU and Tulsa then we could have big problems going forward.

Believe it or not, i would be more worried about Yale…Its YALE! He is a kid very serious about academics…

I agree!! Hopefully, we have the academic concentration he desires.

Let’s hope Applewhite is pushing our tier one status.

I think this kid could compete to start his freshmen year. He could definitely fill our holes at LB.

Depending on how we close, this could still be a very good class. It’s not going to be great. We’ll likely have to be in the Big 12 or ACC or Pac 12 to sign another class like '16. But as of today we have five 247 Top 150 players. We are also in on about five more. So if we get 2-3 of those five, we’re looking, hopefully, at 7-8 Top 150 guys. For the sake of comparison, here’s how many we signed in previous years:

2017: 5 (with some 8-10 recruits to go)
2016: 10
2015: 3
2014: 3
2013: 4

In addition, some of our lower-rated commits may be better than their ratings. Chidi Ogbannaya, whom we could still lose, has offers from almost half the Big 12, Parker Eichenberger received serious interest from Auburn and holds a Big 10 offer, and Bryson Smith, who is just outside the Top 150, has offers from Texas and Baylor. Hopefully things will break well the next two weekends. If they do, we could still end up with the top class in the AAC. We’re 3rd even now, and 1st-place Memphis has eight or nine more commits than we do.

On Joe Anderson, he is not going to be here in the spring, but I don’t know if that door has been shut. I have heard that he’ll be here in the fall, but I’ve heard the opposite as well, so I’m just not really sure.

How is this kid only a 3-star? He is quick, fast and brings the wood.

He looks like a Major find!

247 has him as a 2 star. That’s OK; that’s the UH way. Find those diamonds in the rough and polish them up.

Honestly, the academic gap between Yale and UH is less than the football experience gap between UH and Yale. There are a few current Coogs who had offers from Ivies and ultimately the decision comes down to if they value the academic experience more than the football experience.

Let’s hope Demetris Harris give UH a chance next weekend.

He’s at Wake Forest this weekend.

Would really like Harris as we could use a guard to go with Cosmi and Bardwell, both of whom are among the best OT prospects we have gotten in awhile. Harris apparently decommited from GA Tech and has offers from USF, UCF, Wake, ECU, etc.

Did you all see where Cosmi did an in home visit with Memphis this week? Concerning.

WE GOT HIM!

Cosmi maybe gone. If he goes, we’ll be fine. Our current OL is young and we will fill in spots with other players.
