If BYU beats Tech in the CCG then both teams will be in…
Even the best men are corrupted occasiinally in life
Makes sense which is why I am curious about how they handle Miami vs BYU.
Agree with Kyle that if BYU wins, then both in, but I don’t think BYU wins the Big 12. Thus committee will jump Miami even though they say a loss in a CCG will not be held against them.
Of course the topper is that if SMU wins the ACC, they will have lost to two mid-pack Big 12 teams. Miami TV ratings tops all that though if given the chance.
BYU’s current resume is better than Miami’s. The disrespect BYU has gotten these last two seasons is bad.
First off, the Big 12 is 5-1 against the ACC.
Secondly, BYU has 5 road wins, Miami 2.
Thirdly, BYU has 6 wins over teams with a winning record versus FBS, Miami just 2.
Lastly, Miami has two losses that are much worse than BYU’s lone loss to Tech.
The only category Miami has a leg up is best win (ND vs Utah) but that’s marginal at best.
I like your thinking but…the cfp has proven that it does not consider the BIG12 and even the acc on equal footing with the big10 and sec teams. In fact this cartel consider the acc above us. Just remember what happened with smu last season.
Why is Miami ahead of Utah? That makes no sense whatsoever.
And it has begun. The ACC has five ranked teams now. We only have 3 despite a 5-1 record against them including 3 wins over their ranked teams.
Tech dropped after a bye.
Utah dropped after a win.
BYU didn’t move after a solid road win.
Sun Devils dropped out after a win.
We crapped the bed.
Texas moved up after giving up 37 to a two win team at home.
Tennessee moved up for beating another nobody. Vols still don’t have a win over a team with a winning record.
It is rigged.
Hey yo! It’s survey time.
Who do you think will win the CFP Championship?
- Ohio St.
- The remaining field
Not only is it rigged but this upcoming final cfp selection might be a turning point. Yormark and the other commissioners have given the big10 and sec command of the cfp under strict guidelines.
These guidelines means no more bull shiiite selections. If thes b.s. selections happen expect fireworks. Yormark as opposed to past commissioners won’t accept it. BYU losing twice to teetech (if it happens) earned their cfp spot.
There is a major part that is overlooked in this. Here it is.
MONEY
Idk… if Utah wins next week and BYU loses twice to Tech then I think Utah has a better case to be in than BYU.
Ohio State has only had one opponent score half of what they did all season. They have to be the odds-on favorite.
(Vegas says they have about 1:2 odds. That seems low to me, to the extent that I might even put money on it.)
The ideal outcome of the BIG12 championship game is for BYU to beat teetech. Just to give the biggest middle finger to the cfp it would be awesome for this to happen…but then these a…holes would exclude teetech. You can count on it.
bama has two losses. They lost to Florida that is horrible this year. There is absolutely no way that they should be ranked above BYU. They are because they are in the sec. This is how you spell sec BIASED B.S.
I don’t think they’d keep Tech out in that scenario…
They will take their ASU loss as the point to take them out. Remember BYU last season beating smu…and smu getting the invite.
Let’s see if LSU & Auburn can pull some upsets this week…
This entire cfp selection is about money.
espn wants us to get drunk on the notion that the cfp selcts the best teams.
The general public is like hypnotized by these charlatans. This bs. cfp selection has some real ramifications, money wise that is. Just think what U of H could do with it when the BIG12 gets two cfp invites instead of one? This is what it is all about. It has nothing to do with sports merits but everything about the big10 and sec getting richer.
Ohio State is really good. So is A&M. But with conferences being gigantic they both avoided big games. No Oregon, USC, or Indiana for OSU in regular season. No Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Vandy, or Tennessee for TEMU.
Yea, but what to do about it? Not enough pull by others to 'boycott playing SEC or B1G schools. what to do, what to do.
Great question. Yormark was adamant about the BIG12 getting what it is due to the BIG12.
I am realistic. At best this will push forward a cfp at a minimum of 16 teams. The problem will remain but will allow more money to the BIG12 with more cfp invitations.
Not hard on the “what to do”. Stop watching the SEC and Big Ten, yet everyone here and other Big 12 forums keep going on about having to watch Ohio st vs UT or a Georgia game or a Bama game. They get ratings because non-SEC fans watch thus they stay on top of media wish lists.
