PREGAME CHAT: Houston vs. Colorado | Sep. 12 | 6:30PM | ESPN

Yep. Their bread and pecan pie are good, though. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, rookie didn’t even mention Sunnyside or MacGregor.

For a quick breakfast I always liked Brothers’ Taco down the street from UH…

I never ate their lunch tacos but their breakfast tacos were a staple for me during my college years.

If you need a breath of fresh air, run over to Deer Park. Craving a hike? Go for a run up West Mount Houston. There are lots of freeways but don’t worry, literally everything you’ll want to go to is right on Frontage Road, and nearly every exit will take you there.

Ah, the views from West Mt. Houston - almost as sweet as Mt. Belvieu.

Brother Tacos - Lots to choose from, made in front of you, long lines but they move quickly, terrible parking, police officers eating (always a good sign). Inexpensive, a great value for the amount of food. You can’t beat fresh, warm flour tortillas.

Truth BBQ - Central Texas style BBQ cooked with post oak wood. Pro tip: Go for the BBQ, stay for the banana caramel cake. Check the times they are open. The first time I went, they were closed after lunch and opened back up at 5:00 pm.

Blood Brothers BBQ - Texas BBQ meets Asia. Maybe too non-traditional for some but it works. Lots of national awards. Brisket fried rice? Yes please.
Not close to UH but if you have the time, worth the effort. They opened another BBQ restaurant in Las Vegas.

Same. I still eat them occasionally on the way to the office

My Mom is a CU alumna.

If you are staying downtown you should definitely take the light rail which has a station right by the stadium. There’s some great stuff between UH and downtown for food and drink like Huynh, Nancy’s Hustle, Moon Tower, 8th Wonder Brewery, Koffeteria (fusion kolaches), and the original Ninfa’s on Navigation for frozens and Tex-Mex. Saturday you should check out The Post for food court and great roof deck views.

Delaware had 396 yards of total offense against CU & GT rushed for 320 yards against them…

I feel good that we’re going to chew up yards against them…!

Try out La Reynera next time you’re in town. Closer to campus, and they have a bakery.

I don’t really get into breads/pastries for breakfast… I’ll check it out, though.

Actually, I’ll see you at the tailgate on Friday… B and Shahzad are supposed to meet me up there, too…

Colorado will start their 3rd string QB.

This game is going to be big time.

Not just from a media / national TV perspective, but it’s also going to be determine who this team is going forward.

This is the big one.

If y’all want Texmex the original Ninfas is nearish campus. I prefer El Tiempo (same family) right next door.

For “real” Mexican food Chef Hugo Ortega runs Xochi (and other great spots around town) next to discovery green. Good spot for out of towners to hang out. A little on the pricier end but it’s been good every time we’ve been. Parking isn’t free here.

+1 for Brothers Tacos. Quick service. Lines can get long in the morning but it moves quickly.

Also try Villa Arcos for another place for tacos. It’s been a community staple forever. Order ahead if you can.

Some people recommended Viet food. Huynh and the downtown Kim Son are near campus. Kim Son also has a buffet location in Chinatown. Chinatown has so many good spots everywhere you look so I can’t even start recommending places.

If you’re down for viet and like crawfish, Houston has Viet-Cajun food. I like crawfish and noodles if you’re in the heights area.

Made myself hungry typing all this…

Chance Bryant has been listed as a ‘starter’ all three weeks, but the defensive depth chart includes 12 positions.

Friday games are tough for some to attend, but big picture from a national perspective is that the exposure you get playing on Friday is much bigger than being one of many games on Saturday.

Now UH needs to capitalize and win the game to generate some positive publicity and start being talked about as a possible conference contender.
