Anybody have any pregame spots they like to hit before basketball games? We used to go to Pink’s on campus before almost every game until it closed. Haven’t really found a new spot yet, every now and then we’ll go to True Anomaly/Rodeo Goat or the Den.

I like J-Bar-M Barbecue right across 45. They have an indoor/outdoor bar, covered patio with big screen, and a turf area with lawn games. I really like the food too. Bunch of Coog fans in there before games.

The Rustic is closed due to expansion of the GRB but will supposedly open soon closer to Minute Maid.

I’m trying to picture where this is. Is it south of downtown? Near Pappas BBQ?
East Downtown, sorta close to Brothers Taco House, if you’re familiar.

That’s a solid spot, we’ve gone several times pre or post. Also, East End Backyard was great prior to closing, there is something new opening there not sure when. It’s very convenient and can use the rail to the game. Traffic is so awful every direction now getting to the games is a chore.
I wish the school could figure out a way to get something on campus that’d be pregame friendly. Or even host pregame events at the AAC

Nickel City is on the rail line yet not near a stop. Pretty frustrating actually. We have parked there and ride shared to the game.
The other spot we frequent is Equal Parts Brewery. Great beer. Great vibe but no food.

Can’t believe Spanky’s is still there. It opened way back when i was in school.
Axelrad and the pizza joint next door on Alameda. Plus, you’d exit west and avoid I-45 madness.
Hit up Under The Radar brewery on Truxillo, a block away from Axelrad.
It’s a great spot with good beer. Very chill, and good people.
