The UT’s, Michigan’s, Ohio State’s are always going to have a recruiting advantage. But after a year at those schools, some players will decide they didn’t like sitting on the bench for a year, get homesick or whatever.
I like CWF’s philosophy, if we can’t win the recruiting battle, finish second. As we’ve just seen, sometime it’s nice to go home and play and play before friends and family.
That’s not the case with these transfers, though… these guys all transferred from G5 schools.
Which also doesn’t prove Law’s point about our transfer portal advantage because that assumes that highly graded recruits that go to other P4 schools for a year, or two, will want to come back to Houston… not the case here.
That’s called EXCELLENT TALENT EVALUATION
Fritz really has really put together a heck of a football administration team over there.
My own theory wasn’t limited to P4 schools though.
It applied generally to transfers.
And this appears to VINDICATE my theory!
It was based on the premise that transfers would want to COME BACK to Houston… not the case here…
The real advantage is Willie Fritz.

Transfers will indeed want to come to Houston.
Some to be closer to home.
Others for the coaching staff or easily transferable into “Integrated Studies” program.
Others for the chance to play at a higher level than G6 or I-FCS.
Or for a variety of factors.
And as this all-conference list of transfers proves…the transfer portal is indeed our strength.
Lacking the NIL power that other schools have, it’s good that we have such strength in the transfer portal.
Definitely makes up for NIL shortfalls.
And the Texas Bowl MVP isn’t even listed with these 8 players…
And a plan. Players that fit the scheme.
He’ll be on NEXT YEAR’s post to the same effect!

Hard to say cause money is involved and that changes things in terms of how interested guys are in your school
prior to the money exchange now you could get better metrics

All this proves is we evaluated character better than others
