Quentin Grimes (Update: Houston)

This :point_up_2:t2:

Maxpreps, 247, ESPN all have had Quentin listed at 6’5” since back in high school…

I think @LincsmilyUH has probably met him, so I take his word on his height since he’s part of the coaching staff (video coordinator)

Heights are just about always 1.5 inches more than reality.

Haha yep same with Nate. 6’4 1/2 barefoot, 6’6 with shoes

just to update: he was measured at the combine… he is 209lbs… 6’5.25 with shoes (which is the standard measurement tool)…no one uses without shoes measurement

meaning he grew an inch since the nike usa summit

That’s complete ga-ga NBA guard height. I know Grimes didn’t set the nation on fire as a freshman but Kansas DID NOT want to see this kid leave…despite the blassé attitude on their boards.

Any news on his eligibility? I was listing to this podcast and they said they have already declined it.

What podcast? Haven’t heard anything. Would be surprising if it was that quick, given the application was probably only submitted a few days/weeks ago.

He may still be growing. David Robinson grew over 6 inches from the time he entered the Naval Academy until he graduated. You never know with kids, some reach their max at age 13 (like me) and some hit spurts anywhere from 13 to 23 years old. There is no way of knowing if or when a kid will have a growth spurt.

It is called “Three Man Weave”, they said something along the lines of “he was making his in case based on going back home but they didn’t fall for that” they also said they had never seen the NCAA being so quick about it as they made the decision in less than two days.

I don’t think a decision has been made unless they have some inside info.

its already been explained here…when he committed, everyone reported he would file for a waiver…when he signed, the official announcement by us said he would sit out a year…

a lot of sources took that as his waiver had been denied…i saw a bleacher report article doing the same…
you cant even apply till you have signed with the school…everything official has to say he is sitting out…because until he is approved of the waiver that is what is happening, he is asking for a waiver to break protocol

after the official signing sampson said that grimes family is still filling for the waiver

Duarte/Berman > Three Man Weave

When I hear it from one of those guys, I’ll know it’s official.

Berman first, tho. He seems to go that extra mile more than Duarte. Both are reliable, tho.
