Question about special teams

So we have four different coaches for each aspect of special teams. I think it’s a stoke of genius since it allows a coach to focus on each aspect which really don’t have anything to do with one another. I like having Coach Pope coach KO returns for example.

My question is why don’t more teams do that? I never thought of it before but since CMA decided to go that route, it seems like a no-brainer to me. Am I just a homer?

I may be wrong but I think he mentioned he picked it up from Saban. or Mack Brown

I don’t think briles had a designated special teams coach while here. I’m not sure how he divided up the duties however.

Briles didn’t have any other coaches while at UH !
