Radio

I will be on the road during the game Sunday. Can I stream KPRC 950 to hear the game while driving or do they black it out for the stream?

They black it out. There is an affiliate list for the town’s around Texas in our media guide. Otherwise you can stream a cast off of reddit.

Don’t see that in the media guide. Are you saying someone will post a link to the radio stream on reddit at game time? Sorry, not very familiar with this since I’m usually at the game or watching.

You should be able to use the iheartradio app and search for KPRC and stream it.

See link attached. Let me know if this helps/works for you.

I think the KPRC stream still goes to national shows when UH games are on. I have not found a way to stream the radio broadcast except through UH and I think football requires a fee.

Last season, the Tune In app also streamed. Not sure if it’s subscription based or not (I don’t think so for UH games)

Also, if you have a SiriusXM sub, I would bet it’s on there.

Radio is ignorant sometimes. The only time anyone is listening is when a game is on yet that’s when they choose to pull the plug on a internet broadcast.

I agree. Damn it, I really don’t want to be panicking trying to figure it out while driving with my wife staring at me.

Well don’t take your wife with you.

Channel 81 is Oklahoma feed. 84 is Houston

Would much rather listen to Coog radio while watching the game, then the announcers. They can come off as really biased toward the favorite. Miami gave Florida everything they could handle, and come within a fake punt of beating them, but when they lost, it was like they were supposed to lose. This may have a unique angle with King playing Hurts in HS.

As was requested, could someone explain how I would get the radio broadcast on reddit? Thanks

It should be on ESPN Radio also.

Thanks!

Kind of strange for the UH ALL Access subscription…normally, they show the press conferences and have the radio broadcasts through there. However, they didn’t have the press conference stream and they don’t list the OU game as one of their upcoming broadcasts (they do have volleyball and soccer games on the list). Not sure if they’ve done away with it, but I kind of hope they haven’t.

New staff including a new comm director that just came on so maybe they’re just a little behind on getting things setup on that end right now.

I use the TuneIn ap, it never fails.

Sometimes I also use my SiriusXM ap, but it depends on the game and if I’m listening to other games while driving.

Just use bluetooth on your vehicle radio, or if it’s hard wired use a usb or Aux cable (tethering your phone to the radio).

Give it a good test run prior to the game so you can have it set up and hopefully avoid getting panicky while your wife is in your vehicle. Her job will be to make sure you’re driving to her EXACT specifications, not wondering if you know how to use your smart phone connection for radio.

Thanks all. Fireman, does the tunein ap require a subscription? Also, thanks Frontiersman, I totally forgot to check the espn radio ap.

Good to know I’m not the only one with this problem.

Check to see if you can download a UH athletics mobile application.

I know I was able to do that a few years ago and listen to UH games as there’s usually a game 2nd Saturday in September and I’ve been in Breckenridge CO for their octoberfest past 4 years and this coming.

Don’t have it now as I recently got a new phone.
