I was maybe seven or eight swimming in the Channel, off the Normandie coast. Then the coast guard gets on the horn.
“Everyone out of the water”
We all got out of the water.
A few minutes later a huge explosion/splash happened. A WWII mine came up to the surface.
To this day it is very common to find undetonated bombs in the Eastern and Northern Eastern part of France where the bloodiest WWI and WWII battles took place. Even today in Normandie, where D-Day took place and when the tide retreats it is common to find WWII artifacts.

that photo is so beautiful. imo, the mlb, nfl and colleg football are all within 10 years of having uniforms that look more like the advertisers billboard that race car uni’s have become.
