Ranking of Top 40 fast food chains

Pfft! I’m suspicious of rankers and rankings, and this one confirms my scorn. My takes: I will never eat at Burger King again until the company quits running those ads with the deliberately off-key jingle-singer. Just hire Yoko Ono and call it a day. Also, Wendy’s is on my favorites list since they posted that snarky comment about Katy Perry and her adventure eight miles high. (Yeah, I know was it farther. I just wanted to throw in a 60s allusion.0

Popeye’s is good, but really spicy. Whataburger does a decent fish sandwich. My wife prefers Pappa’s, but I despise the glob of cole slaw they plop on top. It ruins the crunchy taste. If you order it, just tell them to hold it. Better yet, tell them to take whatever they were going to put on it and dump it in the trash.

MY favorite Lenten fish feast: Shrimp Galley on Telephone Rd. near Long/Park Place. Order #13, and switch out the French fries for onion rings. You get shrimp and fish and a laughable bit of salad. Bring a book or crossword puzzle because it’s not fast fast food.

One definition of hell: eternity in a crowded Chucky Cheese with a broken beer tap

Cane’s?

Ick.

Those are some really bland chicken strips. Truly an excuse for gravy.

Canes is bland and depends on a sauce for flavor.

Mmmmmmm Canes sauce :yum:

I might be a stretch. But it’s very fast!!

Becks Prime used to have a swordfish, yes swordfish sandwich with a unique smokey creamy sauce. The bun was crisp but also fresh and light at the same time. The sandwich itself was a meal. After all these years I remember getting my first bite into that sandwich. Boy I miss it.
Since then it has never been the same. All fish sandwich suck. They are not worthy and taste like card board. I have tried a few but nothing absolutely nothing compares to that sandwich. I have teary eyes thinking about it. At times I think of that sandwich. I have tried to close my eyes and think I am eating that swordfish sandwich but quickly I wake up to reality.
Even restaurants swordfish sandwich do not compare to Beck’s Prime’s.
No I do not work for Beck’s Prime but I did contact them a few times about opening up locations outside of Houston.

I like Beck’s Prime burgers, fries, and shakes.

I guess that qualifies as fast food, albeit rather high end fast food. And as you mentioned, it’s a blessing because it’s a local chain in OUR locality.

I’ll have to try the swordfish sandwich there sometime. I hope it’s still on the menu. Thanks!

FWIW, the FDA strongly recommends against any amount of swordfish. Predator fish are real high in mercury.

Ugh. Really?

How come everything good is bad for you?

Maybe it’s no longer on the menu, given that.

I stopped caring what the FDA says the day they said eggs were bad for you and to stop eating bacon.

Don’t worry about it, none of us are getting out alive so enjoy.

That could explain a lot.

Culvers is straight up. I consider it good stuff.

OK, so when I try Culvers, what should I order?

They don’t have the swordfish, which my wife used to love. They have a couple of Ahi sandwiches. I’m sure they are amazing, as they make the best burger in Houston.

Having injested a decent amount of Whataburgers during my stay in San Antonio, there is no way in hell they even come close to being as good as In n Out. Maybe years ago, but they have lost a lot of ground since the takeover. They kind of suck.

I disagree there. In and Out burgers aren’t bad, but I do like Whataburgers more.

I’ll be honest I can get through a line at Chipotle much faster than most traditional fast food places.
