Record Predictions Post-Rice

The once after OU was fun

how about post-Rice?

We need to beat Cincinnati.

That will get us to 2-2 when we could have realistically, been 3-1, after the first 1/3 of our season.

So far I’m batting 100% with my post OU prediction!

I think we can still slide up to 5-6 wins

4-5 wins.

Up from my 1-3 win prediction after Week One.

Our defense will keep us within striking distance of a win in most games

6+ wins and a bowl.

6-6

Still stuck at 2-10

Offense during the Rice game looked good. UH punished Rice with big plays because UH was able to make the most of its speed advantage. It reminded me of UH teams from 10-15 years ago when UH would often win the speed match-up. There won’t be that kind of speed advantage the rest of the season.

Personally I think Cincy is the most important game of this season. If we can win away at Cincy then I think we’ll be competitive and play for a bowl. That momentum will carry us. If our offense sucks and we lose then I’m thinking 2 win season with that win being over only Baylor since BYU looks good this season.

i see us beating Cincinnati. I have no trouble seeing that.

we are beating cincy and Iowa state

1-11. We don’t have the horses on offense. Sam hung more points on Rice than we did. It’s a shame, because with this defense, a below-average offense would get us to a bowl, but the one we’re trotting out there on gameday is putrid.

Still 4 for me, defense is good enough that 3 more wins happen 2 probably by accident and 1 “where has this offense been game?”

If we stick with Donovan Smith, 2 wins. Zeon Chriss is run only.
If we switch to Ale, maybe 3-4 wins. But we have to have some semblance of a passing game.
Donovan panics every time he sees a rusher and his arm is not the same as last year.

We beat Rice way worse than Sam did, and only lost to OU by less than a TD on the road, significantly outgaining them.

After Week One, I was looking at 1-11 with a ceiling of 3-9.

After Week Three, I’m a bit more optimistic, or if nothing else, less pessimistic.

Our D is good enough to get us at least a few more wins.

Wish we had Batton back next year.

Defense is legit hopefully they all stay healthy. Offense need a little more work. We did fine against Rice but we did not have a problem running on them. I am not sure how well we would fair if our QB had to win the game throwing.

I am at 3-4 wins

With our OLine, I seriously wonder how well we will run the ball against anyone except Rice.

We’ll see.

Are you suggesting that SHSU can beat OU at home?
