On a related note, I wonder if any Spanish teachers are getting grief. One of the first assignments I gave to students on Fridays after their first quiz was to label and color a map of Los Estados Mexicanos, including El Golfo de Mexico. I can envision a new teacher these days having to deal with a parent insisting it be labeled El Golfo Americano.
On second thought, assigning a map-labeling activity would probably be considered too low-level for the Instructional Coaches. Sigh! Every day since I retired has been rainbows and unicorns.
