Truth be known, UH doesn’t have traditional identity other than kick butt on the field, court or course.
If anything, the golf cart buggy entrance with the UH helmet is something we’ve been doing since the 60’s.
Come to think of it, I haven’t seen too many other universities implement something similar.
Perhaps we can modernize it by building a larger buggy/helmet to lead the team onto the field.
As far as trying to appeal to today’s athlete/players…why would you?
Do you see athletes, fans, students and alumni of Florida State, USC, Texas, Colorado, Georgia Tech, etc. expressing a need to change their traditions?

ChatGPT says it looks like an '84/‘85 Eldorado (someone who knows more about cars than I do, which is a low bar, might be able to correct this) which has a spec weight of 3913 lbs; the Ramblin’ Wreck is famously a 1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe, which weighs in somewhere under 2350. That’s a huge weight difference.
