Rest Sharp and start Arceneaux until he's fully healed

We’re a really deep team for a reason, all of our rotation guys and several of our freshmen would be starters on other teams. Terrance can fill in just fine.

Our next 3 games are against Tech, Okie Lite and Colorado. We need Sharp for March not February

Agree. I was disheartened to see him go down again the way he did. Please use him sparingly until March!

I’m not concerned that the team will push Sharpe to play when he shouldn’t

People say we’re deep, but we’re pretty much going only 8 deep game in conference games that aren’t blowouts. Francis, Wilson and Areceneaux are only bench players getting consistent minutes.

yeah we were supposed to have McFarland and Walker too, so every game they don’t play is showing our depth

Sharps health is ultimately more important to the teams success than seeding is so I would tend to agree that resting him a couple game would be a smart play

We NEED to win this Tech game Sat. He can rest next week vs OKS and CU.

Any idea on return date for Walker?

Ding Ding Ding… Exactly 100%

I think you start TA and play more of Wilson. Play Mercy in spot minutes. TA tends to play better at home so maybe we can win without Sharp.

TT will no doubt be a tough test, though, so I think Sharp should only play if we really need him… maybe some spots minutes to hit FTs at the end of the game. I agree, he’s more important in March than now.

while it be a big win for us in the big 12 race i think we should be able to gut it out at home without him provided our defense plays as they are capable of

This might be a contrarian take but if Sharp and Ramon are not available, Jefferson’s on ball defense has impressed me. As a third guard to slow down Anderson or their point in spots.

You know what might help UH? Wearing knee pads like Hakeem did while he was at UH.

The injury is to his ankle/side of his foot, not his knee(s).

If we had this discussion before the season started, most Coogfans would be calling for Mercy to take up the slack

What I’m hearing on this ankle injury (forget what podcast, it’s one of ours) is it doesn’t matter if he plays or not. It will take time to heal and if he tweaks it he tweaks it. The doctors are going to clear him. It’s more of a nagging thing. Again that’s what ive heard and could be a reason he isn’t out already.

Mercy has had almost an entire season to figure it out. Should be ready to go soon.

I would love for him to show us some evidence of that

Over the years, I have suffered several muscle/joint related injuries. Some, I played thru and some I stayed off the field/court. One thing I learned - shoot arounds are different from game/tough full pad practice. IMHO, let his rest the damage until he is needed. We have depth.

Won’t be till next year, rotation is set he won’t be getting minutes unless we are way ahead or we have big injury problems
