It was reported earlier in the week that the intent of the CFP when Rhodes stepped down was to get someone with experience serving on the CFP, and be from the B12. The B12 proposed Utah’s Mark Harlan. Also having experience on the CFP were Texas Tech’s Kirby Hocutt and West Virgina’s Oliver Luck. The CFP ended up with Arkansas’ Hunter Yurachek, of the SEC, as Committee Chair. I’m not saying it is necessarily a bad choice but make that what you will.

It must be something really big to warrant the action taken against him. I do hope it is not a health issue.

Thru the years, Baylor seems to have a lot of this crap !!!

Well I think BY , our commish and the AAC should have taken or should take the 4/4/2/2 deal bc at most we’re only going to get 1 and have to fight for the 2nd team in. The sec and big will get their number they want so we should have taken or should take the bird in hand. Hopefully by Dec our commish will see the writing on the wall . We fought for what we thought was parity in leagues by saying , let it happen on field but it won’t work in our favor as you can see. All projections so far have us with 1 team in and even an expanded playoff prob would be almost the same. There is still time by December unless all parties gave up on expansion.

I dont think there was a 4-4-2-2 deal with a 12 team playoff. You would be excluding G5…Good chance we’ll get 2 in this year because we have 2 top 10 teams in the big 12 and another right below.

I think your 100% right on a 12 team playoff but in a 16 team field, I like the 4/4/2/2 better simply bc the sec and big will still be greedy. The problem we face is the media and polls are biased so in an expansion , we are better off under a 4/4/2/2 . I know the argument for not doing that is it makes us look inferior but at the end of the day, we’d fight for the same result bc it’s a fact the sec and big will get 4 each no matter what. People will see the playoff teams and if we get 2 for sure in an expansion, we look better vs fighting for 2.

The reason I know the sec and big will get 4 anyway is bc both leagues are under increasing pressure to make top dogs happy or they fire coaches like Lsu did. The Lsu admin said he wants Lsu in the playoffs every yr and you still have UT, Bama, Ga etc who also want it and so espn etc will bias the polls. They will get their 4 anyway so in expansion, we should get our 2 guaranteed spots vs fighting to get a 2nd one in. In good yrs , we might get 3 in a 16 team playoff then we look good as well as looking good with 2 each yr.

Anyone who considers him saying “wtf are you wearing” as a “verbal assault” is softer than a bartender’s pour when it’s an open bar. Utterly laughable.

That can’t be why he’s stepping down… there’s something else behind closed doors.

Sounds like he was “hiking the Appalachian trail”

Probably attended the wrong type of party.

Does anyone else remember how often he used to say “Mkay” at his press conferences and speeches? I know that’s it’s petty, but it was all that I could hear when he spoke after a while.

ESPN now says he is out as the Baylor AD.

Does Baylor hire people with fireable issues, or does Baylor cause the issues? Or both?

When is the last time they had an AD who just left without some kind of drama?

What could they need to inquire about? Dude apparently had an affair with a local school administrator
