For Baylor, a consensual affair in the athletic department is pretty tame compared to murder, pressure to commit perjury, sexual assault and cover-ups.

Rhodes saves Arandaâs job by being the bigger screw-up.
âBaylor announces the school is keeping coach Dave Aranda for the 2026 season. President Linda Livingstone: âWe recognize this decision will generate strong opinions. Let me be clear: Baylor expects excellence, accountability and competitiveness at the highest level. We are not complacent, and we are not settling for mediocrity.â
Not sure who Baylor couldâve hired anyway, with all of the prime coaching jobs available this year.
Itâs turned into a sellerâs market. As an old coach once said âold something is better than old nothingâ
With the disruption in the ADâs office, It would be awkward for an interim AD to fire Dave Aranda and try and hire someone. Good luck finding a coach who wants to report to an interim AD, knowing when the interim AD gets replaced, the new AD might want to bring in their own coach. Aranda gives the program some continuity and he has one more year to prove he is a long term coach at Baylor.
Baylor gets everything they deserve !!
I agree. His banging a local elementary school principal behind his wifeâs back is a scumbag move, but Baylor has seen worse.
I think it was more of an excuse to unburden themselves of his long and expensive contract after he had become an ineffective administrator. Baylor has been on a downhill slide for a while, and while he was getting paid OVER $3M PER YEAR to do his job, between CFP and his side piece, he was getting âpulled in several different directionsâ (rimshot) and not doing the job he was getting paid to do.
BTW all this came to light because the ladyâs husband and her grown son confronted Mack in the Gaylord Texan parking lot and there is apparently video of this somewhere out there. I wouldnât hate for that to be leaked right before the game.
