My freshman year we lost to the Hooters 14-13 on T-Day weekend. I came back to campus early for that game. Disastrous. Yeoman’s last year.

Just a 90 minute walk or 20 min bike ride between UofH and Rice campus is crazy to think about

Do we keep the bayou-bucket trophy forever or until we play them again next decade or next century?

Attention SEC/B1G school Presidents. This Saturday the worst attended so called rivalry game among all P4 schools takes place. UH VS Rice. Usually less than 3000 Rice fans risk their lives to venture a few miles to watch the game at TDECU stadium. When playing at Rice UH brings 15000+ fans to Rice Stadium.

UH AD’s historically practice Einsteins definition of insanity by renewing this game with a home and home schedule hoping football fans in Houston start wanting to attend the game. University of Texas when they played Rice played 6+ games at home to one at NRG Stadium. UH would never require such a schedule.

Compare UH to other P4 rivalry games and please refrain from laughing.
It has been reported that UH is talking with Rice about future home and home games.

This Saturday at UH our President may be wearing a red dress to the game. Since it is Rice, one would not be surprised to here the song Roxanne by the Police being played on our PA at the game. After all, UH needs a cheap night of entertainment with Rice usually lying down and taking the loss.

But please, please B1G/SEC presidents, consider UH when the P2 is created, even though our administration is clueless of what a football rivalry game is.

Reportedly, Brett Yormark will be at the Rice vs UH game. After he sees the UH attendance, do you think he will take back UH’s invitation to the B12?

Can’t take it back, we have a contract!!!

Personally I don’t feel much better dominating Rice. It’s like beating up a panhandler. Most times you have bragging rights but hell.

Sometimes he pivots his hips at just the right time and clips you with an uppercut.

Either way it tells you nothing. Just putting a weekend in the books. I’d rather bully SFA or UNT. But it’s just the way it is.

Note: I will say the year they beat us and Kolb in Reliant they were dominant. We couldn’t stop squat. My absolute worst Hooters moment. Just depressing.

In other words, Ruck Fice!

The score of that game was only 7 to 10. It’s not like they lit up the scoreboard. We were just even more inept on offense that day than they were.

TTU owns us in recent history. We need to make up ground and get on the winning side of that rivalry.

Only partially true. You can make a case that a UH win against Rice does not reveal anything for UH. But a loss to Rice exposes a lot about UH.

We couldn’t score for the life of us and their defense shut down our offense like it was play time.

Rice is a lose/lose for UH. Winning against them is meaningless because UH is expected to win, and losing to them embarrasses the program and will get a coach fired.

If that’s what it takes then we should thank them.

Yes, that was my point. I was there it was ugly. You wrote that “we couldn’t stop squat” which to me seemed to infer that they scored on us at will, or at least moved the ball on us well. It was more like offensive futulity for both teams.

I never could work up any hate for Rice. Mostly, I just felt sorry for them (in the football sense).
