S**T list that is.

I remember the following about Rick Barnes and therefore Rick Barnes will never be removed from my proverbial list

In 1999 after losing to the Clyde Drexler coached UH team in Hoffienz pavilion he had the gaul to remark that ut would never again schedule UH in basketball because it would be a lose lose proposition for ut. If ut won people would just say well they were supposed to win the game but, if ut lost it would be a horrible upset loss for them.

I would point out that for years before that game coach Guy Lewis could have justifiably said the same thing about UH scheduling ut. Especially during the Elvin Hayes and Don Cheney years and again during the PHI SLAMA JAMA years. However, coach Lewis had way too much class to make a remark like that about any opponent.

Sadly, the same cannot be said about Barnes.

So beating him and Tennessee will carry a special meaning for me.

No use in scheduling UT , the stadium is already sold out, doesn’t do anything for us to play them anymore

Rick Barnes can park is hated a#% behind the two fat Bama toads that blocked our guy’s view for 60 minutes. Hatred has to be keenly focused.

Coach Sampson and Coach Barnes are good buds. That’s good enough for me.

He also said they wouldn’t be scheduling any in state teams unless it was at their arena, and then the next year they played Rice at the Toyota Center.

I don’t care if Barnes is big buds with Jesus Christ. Barnes is totally classless. No way he ever gets off my list after the remarks he made.

I’ve always thought Barns was a hell of a coach. Seems like a nice guy. I don’t really care what someone said he said, that one time, 26 years ago.
