Ya know, growing up back in the 80s, my brother and I went there so many times to use the bowling alley, water park, etc.
Sorry to see it shuttered. Lots of great memories!
I practically lived at Fame City growing up. That place had it all. Saw my first set of cans there. A lady was going from one level to the next on the spider web tower and her top got caught on the elastic bands. Oh, what memories.
Nooooooooooo!
I was there when it opened. My friend worked there in the arcade and would give us tokens to use.
Thought that place already closed. I used to go there and adventure bay all the time, growing up in Barrington place and sugar mill just south from there.
Water park closed many years ago but inside remained open. No clue what was inside still but I doubt it was anything like it was in the 80s-mid 90s. Practically all my friends lived in Sugar Mill and surrounding neighborhoods. Proud Trojan here. Screw that Titan stuff.
I used to go bowling and skating there during my childhood years.
Hah. Yeah I was there when it changed
My mom lives close by. I used to go bowling with my friends in the early to mid 2000s. The site of the water park is now a senior living community and has been for a while now. RIP Funplex.
I didn’t even realize it was still open.
Oddly enough it didn’t change much inside - you had the big open pavilion and games plus the Ferris wheel
The area where the bumper cars and that shooting game which rotated were long gone but the skating rink was intact
Man I had no idea that place was still open. Had some great times there. Fame City Water Works is still one of the better waterparks I have been to (at least in its prime). I would pick it over Splashtown any day.
Same here. Remember it also had a movie theatre too. We saw the Chipmunks Movie there when I was a kid.
I was a lifeguard there when the water park opened. Hated that job
What years were you there? You might’ve hated the job because of me and my brothers.
Anyone remember the short lived tanks they had across the street? They shot balls but not sure how the game worked because I was too young to play in them.
Yes. I remember the tanks. I know I did that one time. Was so cool to me as a kid.
I went to 2 raves there… both were awesome!
Maybe summer of 87’?
