Ya know, to this day, I still consider Cheers to be an all-time TOP TWO sitcom; I’d only put All in the Family in the same funniness category.
I mean, the problem with SITCOMs is that they are often hilarious for a few seasons, and then, over time, their whole schtick wears off.
But Cheers seemed to be just as funny in its last seasons as in its first few seasons, despite cast changes over time.
And of course, George Wendt played one of the funniest characters of all. Sad to hear of his passing.
“George what would you say to a cold beer?”
“Going down”
Woody: “What’s shaking, Mr Peterson?”
Norm: “What isn’t?”
Sam: Hey, what’s happening Norm?
Norm: It’s a dog eat dog world Sammy, and I’m wearing milk bone underwear.
All in the family, Sanford and Son and Cheers are my to 3. I might also add leave it to beaver

I love that line. Use it every now and then and it’s always hilarious.
