I always remember that mural on the side of Mary’s growing up. I think I first equated the mural with the “Blue Oyster Bar” from the Police Academy movies. As I got older, I understood more and was once had an occasion to go in the bar for work. I was a bit sad that the mural was painted over originally, just felt like a piece of Houston history. Anyways, the artist of the mural passed away.

That was an iconic mural. RIP.

I’m older than you, but I miss when lower Westheimer was a drag. We’d hop into my friends car and just cruise up and down, people watch, and talking to some rando next our car. Good times, good times.
