Since we wore Oilers inspired uniforms for football, would the basketball program entertain a Rockets uniform night? Since it’d be highlighting a bygone era, I’d imagine they’d use the Rockets red and yellow uni combo to pay homage to the championship teams.
I don’t really think this will happen but I thought I’d just throw it out there. If we were willing to sway from our school colors once, why wouldn’t we do it again?

I think it’s different with the Oilers theme. The Rockets are still here, so there isn’t any nostalgia wrapped around it. However, the kids might like wearing a NBA themed uniform. I love it when we wear the Phi Slama Jama uniforms. I wish we would go back to that full time.
I was happy with the Phi Slama Jama throw back from a couple years ago. Was surprised we didn’t see it last season.
A Luv Ya Coogs basketball combo would be sweet.
Not feeling a ketchup and mustard Rocket setup but I will support the Coogs if the do one.

There is another thread this has been discussed in where it was acknowledged by Kellen the Columbia blue version the Rockets wore is likely.

I think we ought to come out in just shorts. Call it the inaugural “shirts and skins game” and hold it in TDECU. Let Kansas or Zona come out in generic tank tops.

If it is a tribute to Houston basketball and the Rockets, then it has to be these.
You’d be surprised. The pajama jersey is the biggest seller with kids nowadays and it’s not even close.
Would the NBA allow it? How does that all work? I’m sure Tillman would be for it.
We grew up in a time where shirts and skins were acceptable……can do it now though….the chubby kids parents will complain their babies are self conscious about their boobies.
Kids today have no taste then….lol
But , kidding aside I think it will be the one the Rockets sported last year( I posted in the other thread)
Why Rockets?
Stay with the theme of honoring teams from the past, such as a UH basketball jersey with ‘Phi Slama Jama’ lettering across the front.
Not only would it be very cool, but it would also generate excitement with the fan base.
Phi Slamma Jamma would be great to see.
But I think the Rockets or even Astros is just an ode to the City of Houston.
After all the motto is “For the City” and “ H-town Takeover”.
We play like 20 home games; we can do both.
