Rudi Lechner's closes

There has always been a dearth of German restaurants in Houston, or so it seems.

This cuisine just got this much scarcer.

had to happen, bad location. places like that will only make it in midtown or downtown imo.

Somehow it lasted in that location for almost a half a century.

My Military Order of the World Wars chapter often used to hold its monthly meetings there.

I couldn’t attend given that I don’t work in Houston, and they would have them at mid-day, but it apparently was a good host to them for a long time.

Watershed is legit. Lots of German dishes on the menu. The great tap list is a bonus, plenty of beers you won’t see at the usual watering hole.
