So much for Xi’s posturing, saying there was no limits to China and Russian co-operation. That sank very fast after Putin invaded Ukraine. The Chinese are pragmatist in the end, war is not good for business.

When the term “elite” is used for Russian units, that means only half the soldiers are drunk at any given time. Whether or not Russia mobilizes their entire citizenry and eventually win, their military stinks.

This is important. Moldova went from a CIS member, almost a Russian satellite, to being a EU candidate. Russia has been up to no good there trying to mess up the move.

Russia can’t win. They may manage to hold onto Crimea somehow and declare victory. The population fears another mobilization. Consumer goods are becoming harder to buy. Not a good time to live in Russia (is there ever?).
