Safety Jordan Moore transfers to Houston from Texas A&M (Update: Waiver approved, will play this season)

Since he only played 4 games last year, he should be a redshirt Frosh with 4 years left too!

Yep! Four years!

Have to agree. That’s terrific news!

Jordan is from my hometown. His dad, in fact, graduated with me. Great family. His grandfather is Charlie Hall, the great UH and Cleveland Browns linebacker. I saw Jordan plan several times in HS, and he’s a terrific athlete. He played both ways, and was a big-play waiting to happen at running back. I know we need him more at DB, but perhaps in the future we could see a Brandon Wilson situation.

Always think of you Jeff when I see a player out of Yokum. From what I hear the twins were quite a dominating duo playing at that level.
Excited to have him. He comes in with 4 games experience, having ⁰gone through spring and summer. ball and will now have 4 years to play as a RS FR.
So far this gives us 4 transfers since the end of last season to add to our secondary for this season and still waiting on a few more waivers.
Owens LOI to Minnesota from JC
Moore aggieland RS FR
Williams SMU commit from JC
Clemons UCLA Grad Transfer

Still waiting on waivers from our CB/KR from Troy and the DB who signed and participated in spring ball at Minnesota.
I assume we will apply for one for Hypolite? Seems he may have a case since he was not given a choice.

So we went from a liability position group to a strength with these transfers. This is going to be an exciting season.

Any chance any of these safeties end up playing cornerback?

Apparently Owens according to some.

Hopefully our CBs will hold up so they aren’t needed but it would be a nice option to have.

As I understand the new defensive scheme-some of these safeties will be playing a situational LB role for sure.

I believe you mean Collins from UCLA.

I wonder the lack of bringing in any more linebackers means the coaching staff is comfortable with the talent & depth on that position, even though, some of those guys are unproven.

Pre season is like Christmas. The package is wrapped, who knows what the present will be.

I can’t wait for football.

A big part of this defense working, and all the groups are tied together, is the play of the LBs and versitility of the hybrid to play close to the LOS and cover the backend. Just hard for me to picture this working with out those three being magnets to the ball.

These transfers get a chance to step up and show what they can do right off the bat against a play off team first game.

He didn’t want to play for Applewhite. Smh. Wonder who we could have hired that players like him would have played for?

Barrick Nealy, UH to Texas State (Back when it was FCS), played for Lyin’ Tom Herman

He was a dorm director at one of our guys’s high school. Led their team from 1-10 to state champs senior year.

If he got brought back to Houston, that would be insane.
