If youve listened to Coach Sampsons postgame press conferences or his weekday availability. There’s only 1 conclusion:
He or his staff reads Facebook fan pages, message boards, Twitter
Why do i say this? Because the UH beat writers aren’t writing negative articles about Javier Francis. Is Joseph Duarte or Chris Baldwin or Kris Gardner? No not really.
So, who is he referring to? Whos been heavily critiquing Francis? Its the UH fans. And where are they posting negative Francis criticism?
Social media. Both Kellen and Lauren Sampson are pretty active on social media. So, im guessing that’s who feeds Kelvin this info
Either that or some old timers are emailing Sampsons UH inbox with criticisms about Francis or the roster.
There’s been other examples, like transfer portal, where Sampson has talked about hearing criticisms of his roster. Whos complaining about the portal? Oh, social media.
I wish our fans would appreciate who we have instead of constantly talking about about portal possibilities.
I also wish our fans wouldn’t call players trash in the game thread.
Sampson definitely called out the critics after Tech game
anyone on his staff under 45 started reading the internet either in college or growing up if their younger - betcha my left hand someone is reading and reporting the obvious for motivational purposes or even may use some ideas (non basketball)
with a staff that big they gotta be doing something to pass the time of the day as you can only do so much game planning lol
No doubt in my mind it was his best game against a decent for. His rebounding and interior defense have looked much better.
But that left handed hook from 5-10 feet has got to go lol.
I have been pretty critical of Francis but that just goes to show Sampson will never hire me or even ask for advice lol
There’s fair criticism and there’s garbage criticism. Calling Francis “trash” is garbage criticism because it offers nothing. His offense is rightly criticized because for the most part it’s been a serious struggle for him.
With that being said Tech was his best game his defense, rebounding, and minimizing his fouls were excellent.
