Everything about Corvalis that has been described above (except population) can also be said of Fort Collins, Colorado, the home of Colorado State. Fort Collins is definitely a college town; and its downtown was part of the inspiration for Disneyland’s Main Street USA. It’s got breweries, including the home of Fat Tire and a huge A-B plant. There is a large, active Greek system for CSU’s 26,000 undergrads. It’s an hour’s drive from Denver and an hour’s drive from Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park. It has a river and a big reservoir. But since it got discovered, mainly by fleeing/retiring Californians, it is no longer a small town. The population is now 170,000.
UH’s all-time record against the CSU Rams is 4-3-1. The last time we played them was in 2008 at Fort Collins, and I was there.
