On tv I thought there was more Coogs.
Sure. But basically the whole top deck on the north side was orange with them sprinkled throughout the rest of the stadium.
Idk⊠I have front row seats in sec. 117⊠holler at me one day & Iâll buy you a beerâŠ
Iâll ask you the same question about ticket sales - you know full well that thereâs no way to prove/disprove via some kind of âtaggedâ ticket sales numbers.
And yes I have - several. I have lots of Tech and TCU family members (even had an uncle who was an All-American at TCU). I havenât been since the alleged anti-Tech ticket sales policy went into effect. Tech has a huge following in the Metroplex - probably bigger than anywhere else, including Lubbock.
I would just ask why TCU is targeting Tech fans buying tickets if there wasnât an acknowledged problem with visiting crowd numbers. Seems like a weird thing to do if it wasnât a thing.
They even called it the âKeep it Purple Plan.â
When TCU was blocking byu fans it dissuaded thousands of fans from going
When our football program gets back to their winning ways, attendance will increase. Until then, weâll continue to spin in circles worrying about opposing teams outnumbering UH fans. Itâs just the way it is.
TCU isnât targeting Tech, they are focusing on a game that will have a large ticket sales impact. If they were targeting Tech, then they would try to prevent them from buying season tickets and selling the rest. They donât as the goal for the sales technique is to push season ticket sales to who ever would buy them.
This was done to some other school before Tech. Tech was just the biggest home game this past time.
No one said Tech doesnât have fans in the metroplex, just that they did not buy 25,000 tickets. To be fair, who would blame them when their other option is a very long trip to no where (ie. Lubbuck). This is an easy way for them to see their team once every couple years.
Tech fans feel disrespected easily, they should get over it. If they ever did buy that many, guess that would mean TCU is their bowl gameâŠ
I might bring a bull hornâŠ
hmmmmmmm
Youâre right⊠bull whip is in order!
Bull whip is good, I just donât have ear plugs for a bull horn.
Did not realize they were doing this back in 2008/2010. Guess Tech really isnât special then.
This was two seasons ago
They did the ticket block vs UT in 2023. So if BYU had a hard time it was due to other reasons.

Here is a Reddit thread discussing it. It was Texas and BYU
Edit: and an article
Oh well. Even more proof Tech is not special.
To be fair, coming off a national championship appearance, single game tickets were already limited so would not have had many to begin with.
Oh yeah, youâre definitely right.
Plus, I went to byu @ Arkansas instead of this game so I was better off. TCU blew the doors off of byu
Swerve!
Beating Arky there is always a fun game, good you got to be there. Last time I knew people going to games there, they had to be sure to get gas and things before getting there as they would not get service in Arkansas. Long time ago though, so maybe they have gotten a little more civilized.
I like the idea of UH putting the Tech game on a 2 or 3 game mini-plan and no single game seats be sold.
At least Tech fans would contribute more to the athletic department if they decide on the mini plan
