What will happen is the sec will get 4 or so teams in the playoffs however some power programs and medium power teams in the sec could decline bc of losses. Something has to give in that regard. A&M will prob be ok bc they rode some success by being the only Texas sec team. Now they have to deal with OU and Texas recruiting here. Again Espn isn’t thinking this thru bc the best conferences are the ones with 4 or 5 strong programs then they get more conf. wins which keeps their brand. Arkansas is an ex of a once national power that fell off bc of strength of schedule in the sec is now tougher. They might rise again now at the expense of another power. The old SWC big East and big 8 is what Espn should have supported with money to help keep more teams at the top.
If things go the way I fear they might, and we’re discussing whether the 10th member of the AAC should be UAB or Marshall, we’re going to get a lot of “survive” talk here.
No surprises there no one really wants to hang around after the divorce… Lots of cash though they have it I assume they don’t want to spend it though.
It makes the PAC running interesting because even if in our nightmare scenario and they take 4 of the 8 that doesn’t look the conference there still have to rehome one more team to get out from the money obligations.
OU has not won the last 10 titles. Baylor won title in 2013 and beat okie 41-12…Baylor and TCU both beat okie in 2014 and shared title…TCU 12-1, Baylor 11-2 …
