If there was ever a time to show America that U of H has a fan base, its going to be for Baylor.
Buy your blue gear, organize a tailgate, buy tickets. It should be SRO for the game.
What else does the team have to do to get butts in the seats?
Our team needs a full stadium and massive home field advantage.
Go Coogs
I’ll be there in red, never going to wear that blue.
Probably be 8-0 then we might sell out during the season, we just don’t draw well it’s really ashame and an embarrassment compared to other universities
Our group usually has extra tickets to share. Not for this game. I think there will be a lot of interest, especially if we beat Arizona and bowl eligibility is on the line. We are expecting at least 35 for our tailgate. Will be a great day, and then Thanksgiving is the next week.
YES! If we win at Arizona, the Baylor game will be BIG! Bowl eligibility will be on the line! Should be our biggest crowd since UT last year.
We went 12-2 and still didn’t have a full stadium.
Hope Baylor brings, as many fans as KSU.
They will get a big laugh at a few Coogs wearing blue.
I was really excited about student involvement until yesterday. Pitiful attendance.
Our attendance is what it is and was.
The student turnout has been really good all season. The weather and the delay had a big impact.
The students didnt show up though.
I remember in 2016 we nearly packed the stadium for Lamar
No not Lamar Jackson
Lamar university
Beat Arizona and set the stage for a bowl eligibility game.
Do you just want to be negative no
Matter what.
Great crowds vs Memphis, Louisville, Navy, Temple, and of course the unbelievable one vs OU @ NRG.
But do you think that might not have been about the team, but the failure of the program to connect with the city during the Holgy era? How many people, outside of this board, even knew there were games and excited about it?
For all his faults, Herman was a master of connecting.
But it didn’t seem to bother KSU fans.
I mean it was a one hour delay. But hopefully the students come back in force for Baylor.
Go Coogs
No because the only reason the Herman BS worked is because he had an instant winner with Orlando’s loaded defense and Ward made a pretty bland offensive scheme look much more dynamic.
You have to win for these things to work and people were buying into it. As it turned out to be a perfect storm and we all wanted so badly for it to be real.
His second season was a massive failure despite two HUGE wins. When the program started bottoming out in the following season, and would have if Herman had stayed, the fans would have stayed away. Probably would have been a slower death than everything crashing down with a bad coaching hire.
I think we will get back to those days. Fritz is going to do it the right way
Not defending our attendance but fans coming from out of town or having the lone opportunity to see their team play in Houston aren’t going to leave.
Just like when we played at SMU and Baylor with weather delays. Our fans stayed their’s went home.
I think they will be back in force for the Baylor game. The student support has been there. One game isn’t a trend.
Like us Baylor is on the upswing.
Depending on how we do at Arizona our game with BU could be a biggie.
Btw we sit on the visitor side and most of the KSU fans we talked to lived here.
I have visited Manhattan several times and loved it. Really good people but glad we whipped them.
You’re probably right on the trajectory of the program had Herman stayed, but I refer to CDH’s unwillingness to even be a positive ambassador for the program. Herman’s “BS” was still better than the cranky old man routine we saw with CDH - and his bizarre antagonism with fans and press.
