Should I be worried

back when I was in school (class of '06) a few of my professors at least in the core classes I was taking my freshman and sophomore year would give extra credit and sometimes even make it mandatory to attend sporting events.

Dr. Bott was a HUGE supporter of athletics (loved that guy).

need to get the teachers on board as well.

You mean the top 10 team that plays every home game at the FC?

I get it, but we’ve got to change the mindset a little, because there’s a “top ranked team in town” every night at Fertitta.

You do realize UCF doesn’t come anywhere near that type of support in their other games? That was their largest crowd of the season

Question:

Is UH back to regularly scheduled classes on campus, or is it in some sort of lockdown/remote learning environment? If it is the latter, that could have an impact on student attendance.

With all that said, our students should be filling their part of the stands regularly. Is it still the case that student tickets are free?

Exactly this.

We should be going to watch the Coogs. Last I checked, we are the number 6 team in the country.

With regard tp sitting behind the band. The students have already said “no thanks”.

didnt Dr. Bott leave cuz they didnt want to pay him more? stupid decision by UH, Dr. Bott alone converted a lot of apathetic students into diehard donators/supporters, def worth the money
oh yeah, he was also a great teacher!

It was literally their largest crowd of the season.

If we were playing Baylor or UCLA or Arizona or Purdue we would have a fully packed house too.

I am not saying its the way it should be, but its the way it is for us.

Don’t agree, once they came back from holidays
, there were lots of students behind band! That is where I sit in the first half!

We have a 7,100 seat arena. We’re coming off a Final Four, several good seasons, and are in the top ten. There shouldn’t be an empty seat.

And you can’t blame CKS. He literally walks the campus and begs students to attend.

No he left because he wasnt on the tenure track and there was a better opportunity at Swansea to start a Chem department a le CKS. He was an amazing professor and had a lot of school spirit more than most professors.

My favorite quote of his after he left “Of course, I’ll probably yell so loudly over there that you’ll hear me here when we beat Oklahoma and then get into the Big 12,” Bott said.”

Every one of those answers is true. They would also be true if the question were to be why Kelvin might move from Louisville to UH.

good info

But would they designate Kellen head coach in waiting?

Exactly
Or let his daughter be VP of operations

Or build a statue when he wins this natty!

I think the B12 berth reinvigorated CKS. He sees that as a big challenge. It is. We’re gonna be in an “early 2000s Big East good” conference. No way he leaves.

If our hoops team can sustain top 25 in the B12 we will have more stability than at any time in our history. Then he can do the Kellen handoff.
