Glad for them. I went to their old stadium when a nephew was playing there. That place needed them some upgrades.

I loved their quaint old stone stadium. It had a lot of character. I was in the band back in '65 so I did not get to roam around and check it all out. Obvious things were different back in the day. Shucks, you could buy a new Chevy PU truck for about $2000. Now, they are offering 6 or 8 thousand discounts on them
Time had passed it by. I went to a game there 60 years later, in 2025, it may have still been quaint. It didn’t look like a D1 football stadium, many high school stadiums these days had more amenities. The concession stands were especially aged, the restrooms 1 step above a 1980 Luv’s Truck Stop gas station
I mean their fbs now - all those crowds they’re expecting from fiu, etc
Honestly, outside of the renovation there was no need to move up a level. There was nothing that dictated the move. They are basically in the same position except they earn bigger paydays from playing a power 4
