Growing up my dad only cooked well done steaks. We would make fun on my mom for ordering a rare one when went to restaurants. It wasn’t till i was in my 20s that i learned how much better a steak could be cooked. Coach Bell did Zeon a service exposing hin to steak with some pink in it.

My dad always made our steaks medium-rare, so that’s what I order. I don’t mind rare though. My wife takes hers blue but I swear she just wants to be edgy, I’ve had it and it’s not even enjoyable. Well done is crazy though, just order a burger no bun.

My dad burned steaks, ribs and sausage on many Sundays. Seems beer or burbon got between his eyes and brain. Took me many years before I could order a steak medium, now medium rare. Taste is so much better.
