Slow down!

Going faster won’t get you there sooner…

But it’s a lot more fun.

Yeah I realized a few years ago the risk/stress of trying to rush isn’t worth it. Now I just find a lane and settle in 2-3 car lengths behind the guy in front of me. Way less stress.

I only drive fast when I’m drunk. That way I’m not on the road as long.

Yeah, if you’re driving across town, it doesn’t make much difference. If you’re driving 10 hours across Texas, math says that averaging 10 mph more will get you to your destination sooner. Driving 750 miles at 70 will save you almost 2 hours over driving it at 60.

Whether that adds significant additional risk depends on the driver, car, and conditions. What might be an elevated risk for Professor Suspenders in his 1976 Chevette on a bunch of narrow country roads wouldn’t necessarily be the same for a different driver in a newer car on a divided highway.

Of course, the biggest time suck in a road trip is stopping at Buc-ee’s.

Come on now. You gotta post it:

How many times does somebody roar past you or weave in and out only to get stuck at the same light as you? It’s hilarious

Hah yeah all the time.

I used to have a radar detector. Does anybody still use them?
