Softball getting votes in polls - Ranked 23rd in Softball America poll

With its 31 points, Houston earned more votes than any other team outside of the Top 25. The Cougars’ 2019 campaign will feature 10 opponents which also appeared in the poll, including five ranked teams.

On Tuesday, Houston was featured in the USA Today /NFCA Coaches Poll, as the Cougars received votes in that preseason poll as well. Houston hosts No. 13 Kentucky in its season opener on Feb. 8 at Cougar Softball Stadium.

With their No. 23 ranking, the Cougars have now appeared in three preseason polls, having earned 31 votes in the ESPN.com /USA Softball Poll, while receiving one vote in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll.

The University of Houston Softball team earned itself another spot in a preseason top 25 poll, as the Cougars were slated No. 25 by Extra Inning Softball.
