That’s awesome!!! Congratulations.

My son is a junior in high schools. He has decent grades but a piss poor SAT. :crossed_fingers:for him.

One thing about college admissions that has sure changed.

Back in my time, when admissions were all by mail, the way you knew if you had been admitted is if you received a THICK envelope in the mail, because if you were admitted, you not only had a letter admitting you, but also all the commitment forms, housing and financial aid applications, etc. inside as well. You knew you had been rejected if the envelope was thin; the only thing in it would be your rejection letter.

When I applied for grad schools recently though, admission was all online. You receive an e-mail with a link to click to view your admission decision, and when you click the link, if you have been admitted, you get a notice that looks something like what you posted.

Technology has come a long way!

If I may ask, will you be able to transfer any of your post 9/11 GI Bill or Texas Hazelwood Act benefits to him?

That sure would help defray his college costs!

We used to be able to do that . I think it is a great thing to pass it on !
Go Coogs !

Hes going to use my hazelwood, which really helps since his sister is going out of state.

My youngest had an SAT tutor who helped her really boost her scores. Expensive but she applied herself and it paid off. DM me if you’re interested in his contact info

Congrats

My kids had great grades but did not stand out in the SAT/ACT.

In the end did well in UH Cullen engineering. Their high school prepped them well for college rigor
