Soto to the Mets

Let the dominos start to fall.

15 years, $765 million

I had a feeling he would go to the mets. Cohen is loaded with $

He better go ‘buy’ some pitching then

Soto with a huge NYC Dominican/ spanish following.
Extra _____ seats sold will pay for most of actual salary
Much more $ w “Cohen Tax” added.

Mets So far.
Frankie Montas as a 5th guy.
A few seasons hurt but 150 innings in 24.

Mets set w 8th inning guy but not the plan.

And it has escalation provisions that could take it over $800MM.

This is not a game the Astros will ever play.

Well they got Diaz so I assume Holmes will be a relief pitcher

$75MM signing bonus!

Money is getting stupid….there will be a salary cap. It is coming.

I hope the Yankees overpay for Breggy.

What a stupid contract….better hope he doesn’t turn into Trout.

Red Sox in the mix for that overpay.

Willy Adames w 7 years $182 million deal with a full no-trade clause.
29 years old. What will Bregs get?

Doubt it as a legit equalizer like NBA & NFL, etc does it.

Cheap owners still get $200 million in their pocket rev share every year.
Salary cap forces teams spend up to a % of the cap.
(the cause of many bad NBA deals)

Speaking of cheap owners. This was a surprise.

$314,000 plus per game is a pretty good gig. I wonder what the Mets pay for injury insurance. I can sense a 6 weeks hamstring rehab coming.

I saw this morning Soto has an opt out after 5yrs and he could up his pay 5 mill per year for the remainder of the deal if he chooses to stay with Mets.

If he is still putting up numbers in five years he’ll opt out and get a monster deal from a team that might sniff the playoffs.

No matter how much money you make it sucks playing for a loser.
