This may be the reason why ticket demand and prices for lowly KSU game are increasing
Great marketing if this is accurate… plan a giveaway for a bad opponent? Definitely should be done for TDECU football games lmao !!

As of Friday night, I had never heard of One Piece. By game time, I’d had 3 people on staff tell me about how big a deal this is. It’s a Japanese manga comic - they’ll be at 3 UH games and will do a halftime show vs. Kansas State. I have no idea how that will work.
I just want a Canes coupon lol. Do they only give them away to students now?
I had already suggested that UH does a collab with an anime franchise. Hopefully it’ll be successful and we do more.
From the information out, the Band will play the shows Theme Song, and the cheerleaders will also be part of the halftime show.
Anyway for y’all to get a little more information how that’ll work?
I’ve never heard of One Piece, but I’m not 14 years old either. I think the buzz it has created is great. We need One Piece at the football game, assuming they are still popular.
Netflix did a live action version of this, season 2 comes out in March… i have kids who are into all these shows lol
I’ve been in sales for over 25 years. Small talk was always about sports until a few years ago i suddenly couldn’t connect with several of the younger customers but saw my inside sales guy did. I asked what they talk about and it was all anime, warhammer and card games. Asked what everyone’s favorite was and he showed me One Piece. I crash-coursed it and even though it’s not my thing, it has its moments. Now about half of the business owners I work with are under 35 and guess what… all into anime. Also hardly any of them drink alcohol. None play golf. Changed my approach entirely.
The resale will be insane.
That sounds like a sad existence. ![]()
Yeah demand is crazy. Have a friend in section 110 who listed his three tickets on Saturday at $350 each and they sold in six minutes.
“The One Piece is Real!”
This is huge for us. It’s massively popular and has been around since 1997. Plenty of fans are adults with kids of their own. To give you an idea of how big they are… One piece had done collabs with MLB last season. They had a float in last year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It’s not a niche thing. I’m not a die hard fan having seen only a a handful of episodes of the original anime (out of 1000+ episodes). The Netflix live action stuff is fun though.
With that said, I do have a lot of friends asking me about the game so the intent of this promo is definitely working.
Where’s Jeff? Good job Jeff!!
Just checked resell prices on seatgeek for this game and the min $299 and max $763. WTF!!!
Definitely old. One-piece to me implies a swimsuit.
As my wife pointed out this is the kind of thing fans (of One Piece) may actually travel in for.
Even more demand.
I prefer a two piece myself, but I’m willing to look at either.
